I know a freediver who is crowdfunding. I will share the details with you. She was a regular at Hirizohama Beach Minami-Izu Shizuoka Japan. She was a good swimmer and could dive deep and long. Realizing her ability, she started freediving. Now she continues to compete while working with a freediving instructor. She is currently the Asian record holder.
Countless zooplankton swimming on the seafloor, image from 2017. These have not been seen in recent years. Possible reasons include high sea water temperatures, an overabundance of certain fish, and an increase in the frequency of heavy rainfall. However, no one knows for sure why. At the beginning of the swimming season, the sea water temperature was around 20°C. As the season approached autumn, the sea water temperature became higher and these zooplankton naturally disappeared. In recent years, however, they have not been seen. Is it because of the life cycle of zooplankton or environmental changes? In any case, I sincerely hope for a rich and sustainable ocean.
Moray eels are known as the gangsters of the sea. The reason is their appearance and behavior. Their fangs are bared and their faces are very frightening. Moreover, their fangs point inward and are not easy to remove if bitten. And as for the behavior of moray eels, the reason is that they devour the fish they catch in fishing and are severely injured by the bites of the eels they catch.
However, they are also known for their delicious taste when cooked. If only one can learn how to handle its very fine bones, the nuisance of the sea can also be an economic boon.
The oceans have been undergoing anomalies over the past several years. Specifically, rising sea temperatures, the desertification of the oceans known as “Isoyake(磯焼け)” and changes in fish species caused by these changes. These factors have caused enormous damage to the fishing industry.
So we decided to eat and use a species of fish that had been considered a hindrance. We can contribute to the SDGS by eating them, rather than just throwing them away. We hope that this new trial will help the fisheries grow in the future.
