Minami-Izu was recognized as a Geopark. There are places where visitors can see dynamic traces of volcanic eruptions. This place is called Cape AiAi, which was formed when a large amount of lava flowed down a long time ago. There is a café and a facility to watch the beautiful sunset at Cape AiAi. Located at the tip of Minami-Izu, it is a bit far away, but more than worth the trip. Highly recommended. This time, I introduced a photo of a plant that was growing quietly behind the store.
A nOrbicular batfish was photographed. It looks like a dead leaf. An Orbicular batfish that come on the Kuroshio Current often swim in shallow water. Not only do they mimic the appearance of dead leaves, but the way they swim in the water also gives the appearance of dead leaves. In addition, they can swim right next to it. Its crescent-shaped brown figure also has the elaborate feature that its caudal fin is transparent, so it does not have a fish-like shape. It looks like a ninja.
The sea is open at HirizoBeach for approximately three months from early summer to fall. As the season deepens into autumn, not only the land but also the water changes. Specifically, the Kuroshio Current brings an increasing number of underwater creatures. At the end of the season, in the fall, the underwater is as vivid as a festival, and fish can be observed dancing wildly.
I came across a scene in which a fellow eso fish was preying on a sea bream. It was still breathing in its mouth. I witnessed the harshness of the natural world. The sea, where endless life and death are repeated. I felt like I caught a glimpse of it.
A bright yellow frogfish was photographed. The location is HirizoBeach in Minami-Izu. I took this photo by bare diving. It was Mr. Shirakawa, a regular visitor, who found this huge yellow anglerfish. He passed away the other day. He had been fighting against illness. I learned of his death on SNS because I only meet him in the ocean. Although we had only talked a little at the beach, I was filled with sadness. Whenever we saw each other, we always laughed at each other’s silly stories. I realized that I only had such memories of him, which made me even more sad. I tried to lighten my grief a little by posting this article on the Internet. Let’s swim and have fun for him, and when we get to the other side, let’s have a drink together! Mr. Shirakawa, forever!
